On September 13, after 1543 days of hard work by more than 1200 Chinese and Laotian builders, the China Laos (laos) Kunming (Ming) Wan (Xiang) railway friendship tunnel, which was constructed by China Railway No.2 Engineering Bureau, was safely completed. So far, the old fellow railway tunnel has completed 97.5% of the domestic tunnel, which laid the foundation for the completion of the whole line.
Friendship tunnel is located in the Sino old border, is a cross border tunnel linking China and Laos, a tunnel connecting two countries, and the only cross border tunnel between China and old fellow railways, with a total length of 9.59 km, including 7.17 km in China and 2.42 km in Laos, with a designed speed of 160 km / h. In order to reflect the traditional friendship between China and Laos, the tunnel is named friendship tunnel.
Pan Fuping, who has been engaged in railway tunnel construction for 27 years, is the deputy manager of Yumo Railway Project Department of China Railway No.2 Engineering Bureau, and is responsible for the construction organization of the domestic section of friendship tunnel. His apprentice Bai Xiaoke is responsible for the production organization of the foreign section of friendship tunnel. Although the two construction sites are less than 10 kilometers apart, due to the tight schedule and heavy tasks, it is difficult for them to meet each other across the country. "Xiaoke and I have an agreement that when the tunnel goes through, we will have a hug in the tunnel and take a group of pictures. After all, we have worked together in a tunnel for 1543 days and nights." Pan Fuping said that he was very happy with the completion of the tunnel, but due to the impact of the epidemic, the agreement could only be cancelled temporarily.
China old fellow railway is the first international railway that is mainly invested and built by China, which adopts China's technical standards, uses Chinese equipment and connects directly with the Chinese railway network.
