Marseille and Bordeaux, two major cities in France, tightened measures to control the new epidemic situation on the 14th to limit the gathering of people to curb the rebound of the epidemic.

France is one of the worst affected countries in Europe. In the past few weeks, the outbreak has rebounded in France, the number of patients and deaths in intensive care units has increased, and the number of cluster infections in nursing homes has also increased.

In France, 6158 cases of new crown cases were added on the 14th; 251 people were admitted to the hospital due to the new crown, which was the highest number in a single day since April 14; the number of ICU patients reached 712, breaking through 700 for the first time since June 22.

"We're going to double the number of cases every eight days," Philippe Demester, head of Marseille's regional health administration, told reporters French medical staff said that the city of Marseille intensive care unit is now close to full capacity.

Mask enforcement in public places in Marseille will be extended to surrounding areas. The head of Marseille's Provence Alps blue coast region said the weather forecast showed a sunny day in the coming week, and the government would ban groups of more than 10 people from sunbathing in Marseilles beaches and parks. Schools should also suspend the organization of outings and student gatherings. The tightening of control measures will continue until October 1.

The government of new Aquitaine, where Bordeaux is located, has banned people from staying after spending in bars, and the number of visitors to nursing homes is further limited. Both Marseille and Bordeaux have lowered the maximum number of people gathered in public activities from the previous 5000 to 1000.

French Prime Minister Jean Castell said on the 11th that the epidemic situation in France was "significantly worse", calling on the people to cooperate with the government's efforts to prevent the country from "closing down" the city again. Meanwhile, he "named" Marseille and Bordeaux and suggested upgrading the epidemic prevention measures.
