Xinhua news agency, New Delhi, November 13 (reporter Hu Xiaoming) - according to Indian media reports, World Health Organization director general Tan Desai said on the 13th that who decided to establish a global traditional medicine center in India to strengthen the research, training and promotion of traditional medicine.

In a video conference with Indian Prime Minister Modi, he said the center will support who's strategy for traditional medicine from 2014 to 2023. The strategy aims to help countries develop policies and action plans to strengthen the role of traditional medicine and to create a healthier, fairer and safer world.

The 13th is the fifth Ayurveda day in India. Modi also announced at the video conference on the same day that an Ayurvedic Research Institute would be established in Gujarat and Rajasthan. He said Ayurveda is a heritage of India and hopes that the global center for traditional medicine can become a global health center.

The Indian government attaches great importance to the development of traditional medicine. In 2014, an independent ministry level management agency, the Ministry of traditional medicine, was established to protect and develop Ayurveda, yoga and homeopathy.
