Xinhua news agency, December 5, according to Greece's "Greek times" reported that the Greek digital governance minister Kyriakos PieiTe La card Keith said in a statement, will use a new ID card number system, replace the current parallel identity card number, social security number and tax number, so as to achieve this numbering system in the public service sector universal, and achieve one person one.

At present, the identity card number, social security number and tax number in Greek identity system have caused many problems. Because the three groups of numbers belong to different public service departments, there are some problems, such as repeated numbers, untimely cancellation and unable to access data across departments.

In the plan, the digital governance Department said that it would establish an information database based on natural persons by merging the citizenship number system, simplify administrative procedures, realize data sharing among departments, and prevent tax evasion and other illegal acts.

In describing the new ID number system, Piera kakis said the documents held by individuals under the system would be similar to a driver's license, including color photos, a 12 digit code, name, date of birth and place of birth.

After the system is put into use, citizens can use new ID number to complete all kinds of transactions and administrative procedures. Among them, the new ID code will not be changed or stopped with the death of a natural person, but will be declared by the public sector after the death of the natural person. The system is expected to be ready by 2022.

At this stage, the tax number without problems will be directly used as the new identity number of natural persons, the report said. The General Secretariat of the public information management system is sorting out the tax numbers, updating the repeated data of value-added tax numbers, police ID number and other interference data. The updated data will be displayed in the public information management system.
